Paul Merton Stand Up Show Set For The West End

Paul Merton, comedian and team captain on Have I Got News For You is to bring his new stand-up comedy show Out Of My Head to the Vaudeville Theatre in London this autumn.

This is Merton’s first stand-up show since 1999, and will  play in London from 1st to 20th October, and finds the comedian giving audiences a night of sketches, music, magic and variety that includes his improvisational comedy pals Lee Simpson, Richard Vranch and Suki Webster.

Merton, who is best known for his weekly sparring session with Ian Hislop on the topical comedy quiz show on BBC2 as well as for hosting a series of documentaries about British comedy, first found fame as a stand-up comedian in the 1980s before joining the Comedy Store troupe The Comedy Store Players, with whom he still performs.

Paul Merton: Out Of My Head, which will tour the UK before opening in west end, runs at the Vaudeville Theatre following the summer season of What The Butler Saw, which stars another stand-up comedian, Omid Djalili.

The Vaudeville on the Strand is currently the home of the Broadway transfer Master Class, in which Tyne Daly (Cagney and Lacey) plays the iconic operatic diva Maria Callas.

Theatre tickets in London to all west end stage shows, plays and musicals can be purchased securely through both Theatre Tickets London and BmyConcierge.
