Shrek The Musical Get's Even More Family Friendly!

Shrek The Musical at the Theate Royal Drury Lane has now announced two family-friendly initiatives offering a new ‘school night’ performance schedule aswell as a one-off performance for children with special needs.

From March 7th 2012, all Wednesday performances of the family musical will start at 19:00, so children can be see the show and still be tucked up in bed at a more school night-friendly time. Shrek The Musical has now also introduced a new family ticket package for Wednesday and Thursday evening performances with prices starting at £99, helping to make it even more affordable for families to see the show.

On May 16th Shrek will play a special relaxed performance for children with sensory and communication needs with free tickets for children and only a £5 charge for adults. This performance aims to allow families with children with special needs to enjoy the show in a more open and laid-back environment.

This initiative is presented by theatre educational charity Mousetrap Theatre Projects, and supported by ICAP as well as the show’s producer DreamWorks Theatricals, and the companies are also working together to produce a special educational resource pack which will be made available online from April this year. The educational pack has been created to help support both teachers and parents and introduce all relevant elements of the stage show including characters, story line and settings to children prior to watching the performance.

Shrek The Musical tells the story of the lovable swamp-dwelling ogre who finds himself on a life-changing journey to save Princess Fiona along with a wise-cracking donkey by his side. Original cast members Nigel Lindsay and Nigel Harman took to the stage for the last time in the show yesterday which sees Dean Chisnall stepping into Shrek’s smelly shoes and Neil McDermott taking over as the vertically challenged Lord Farquaad from tomorrow February 29th.

Tickets to Shrek The Musical at the Theatre Royal Drury Lane in London can be purchased securely online from Theatre Tickets London and BmyConcierge.

Les Miserables To Feature 3 Valjean's in 2012

View the Article: http://www.theatretickets-london.co.uk/article/lesmiserablestohaveleadingmenin-252.htm
Les Miserables, the smash hit long running west end stage show musical will have no less than 3 leading men playing Jean Valjean in 2012, as Ramin Karimloo extends his run in the show, David Shannon will then play a short season and GĂ©ronimo Rauch joins the long-running musical.

Karimloo, who was a nominee at the 2011 Olivier Awards with MasterCard for his performance as the Phantom in Love Never Dies, will star in the role in Les Miserables of the former convict who strives to make a better life until 31st March 2012.

Following that the outgoing star Karimloo will be replaced by the returning revolutionary David Shannon who has also previously played the lead role in the long-running musical. Like Karimloo, he is a former Olivier Award nominee, receiving a nomination for his performance in The Beautiful Game, and a former Phantom, and will star in the hit show from 3rd April to the 16th June.

Geronimo Rauch, is the new boy who begins a year's contract with the musical on 18th June, and may be a fresh face to the West End, but is certainly no Les Miserables newcomer, having played Valjean in both Barcelona and his native Argentina.

The cast of the West End favourite also includes Hadley Fraser, Caroline Sheen, Alexia Khadime, Cameron Blakely, Katy Secombe, Liam Tamne Lisa-Anne Wood and Craig Mather.

Les Miserables, which features a classic musical score including I Dreamed A Dream, On My Own and Bring Him Home, is currently in the running for the 2012 BBC Radio 2 Olivier Audience Award along with no less than 15 other long-running London hits. The coveted prize is the only Olivier Award that is voted for by members of the actual theatregoing public.

Theatre tickets in London to Les Miserables and all west end stage shows plays and musicals are available to book securely online through both BmyConcierge and Theatre Tickets London.
