View the Article: http://www.theatretickets-london.co.uk/article/diannepilkingtonsettojointhemasterclass-228.htm
Masterclass, the Broadway play that hits the west end from January 2012 will now see Dianne Pilkington star opposite Tyne Daly.
Daly and Pilkington will be joined in the play by Naomi O'Connell, Gerard Carey, Garrett Sorenson and Jeremy Cohen, who will make his West End debut reprising his role from the Broadway run of the play.
The award-winning play from Terrence Mcnally takes the audience to one of Callas's famous master classes where, late in her career, she dares what will be the next generation to make the same sacrifices to attempt to rise to the same dizzy heights that made her the most controversial and celebrated singer of her time.
Dianne Pilkington will play the role of Sophie De Palma and was most recently seen on the west end stage in long-runner The 39 Steps but is arguably best known for her 9 month stint at the Apollo Victoria playing Glinda in musical Wicked. Her other stage credits include She Loves Me at the Chichester Festival Theatre, Cats and Beauty And The Beast on tour.
Masterclass will play at the Vaudeville Theatre in London from 21st January until 28th April 2012 and is directed by Stephen Wadsworth.

Agyness Deyn To Make West End Debut In The Leisure Society
View the Article: http://www.theatretickets-london.co.uk/article/agynessdeyntostarattrafalgarstudios-227.htm
Agyness Deyn, the British supermodel will make her stage debut in The Leisure Society, a new comedy about a vulgar couple with more money than sense along side veteran stage actor Ed Stoppard.
François Archambault's comedy play The Leisure Society will open in the west end at Trafalgar Studios 2 on March 1st 2012 with previews from February 28th. A deliciously funny and offensive satire, the four-hander tells the story of a work-numbed, self-obsessed couple, played by Ed Stoppard and Melanie Gray, who suddenly find their life has gone out of control.
The Leisure Society is set over the course of an evening of drunken debauchery with their fast-living best friend and his young 'friend' with benefits, and is described as a morality play with no morals exploring a world of both self-indulgence and excess.
Agyness Deyn will play the promiscuous and free-spirited Paula. The UK super model has graced the cover of fashion magazines and walked down catwalks all over the world and is the face of numerous high-profile fashion houses. Vogue Paris listed her as one of the top 30 models in the world over the last 10 years, and after deciding to take a break from modelling to forge a career in acting, she made her debut in the 2010Hollywood movie Clash Of The Titans playing Aphrodite, the Greek Goddess of Love.
Ed Stoppard makes his return to the London stage after the hit revival of Arcadia at the Duke of York's theatre in 2009 with his other stage credits including English Touring Theatre's Hamlet, The Glass Menagerie at the Apollo Theatre and Chichester Festival Theatre's The Seagull. He is also a well known face on TV, and starred in the recent remake of Upstairs Downstairs and Tchaikovsky: Fortune And Tragedy.
The London premiere of The Leisure Society at Trafalgar Studios 2 will be directed by Harry Burton and will run until 24th March 2012.

Could The Commitments Be The Next Show To Rock The West End?
View the Article: http://www.theatretickets-london.co.uk/article/couldthecommitmentsbecomingtothewestend-222.htm
Rumours are going around theatreland that a new stage show version of the classic 1991 movie The Commitments is being planned and advanced talks are taking place to bring the show to the west end stage.
The Commitments was a hugely successful movie telling of a group of unemployed Dubliners who form a soul band. The movie was filmed on location in Dublin and directed by Alan Parker from a screenplay adapted by Dick Clement, Ian La Frenais, and Roddy Doyle and was an international co-production between companies in the UK, Ireland and the United States.
The film featured a cast of mainly unknown actors but had a soundtrack that was packed with timeless soul classic hits including 'Mustang Sally', 'Chain Of Fools', 'Mr Pitful', Bye Bye Baby', 'Take Me To The River' and 'Try A Little Tenderness' and was an international success.
The Commitments focuses on Jimmy Rabbitte who aspires to manage the world's greatest band, with only one type of music in mind: soul. Disgusted with bands in Ireland, Jimmy assembles a soul band in the tradition of his heroes Otis Redding, Aretha Franklin, Wilson Pickett and James Brown. Jimmy holds band auditions at his parents' house and assembles together a talented group of young musicians. Unlike his soul idols, Jimmy's band are all white and with the help of Joey "The Lips" Fagan, a veteran musician in the band who tells unlikely stories about meeting and working with famous stars, Jimmy begins to whip the rest of the members into shape - only to have the group eventually fall apart in a clash of egos.
Although this is just rumour and speculation at the moment, a stage version of The Commitments is a very exciting proposition and would appeal to a very large target audience and our sources tell us that advanced negotiations with major producers are now underway so watch this space for further info.

View the Article: http://www.theatretickets-london.co.uk/article/ishughjackmancomingtothewestendstage-220.htm
Hugh Jackman, the Aussie movie superstar and heart throb is currently breaking box office records in his one man show at the Broadhurst Theatre on Broadway in New York where he interacts with the audience and performs some great song-and-dance numbers which it would seem could very well be crossing over the pond and turning up in the west end.
Jackman is currently talking to producer Robert Fox and Cameron Mackintosh about performing in one of his theatres for a series of Sunday night stage shows while he's in London next Spring filming his role of Jean Valjean in the movie version of the musical Les Miserables for Oscar-winning director Tom Hooper.
Show dates are hope to be announced as soon as the Les Miserables shooting schedule dates are fixed dates and a suitable venue is found.
Thiis IS gossip but it's GOOD gossip (don't you agree ladies?)
